Southern Charm Jewelry and Gifts is a small business located in the heart of Downtown Charleston South Carolina in the Historic Charleston City Market, and has been family owned and operated since 2005. Melanie Jones, owner and Charleston native, purchased the shop from her father David in 2009 during the renovations of the City Market, and had the opportunity to redesign the store that visitors and locals have come to recognize and love.

Melanie’s daughter Stephanye has been a part of the team for over 10 years and now serves as store manager. Her love for fashion and jewelry, and intuitive personality have made her a priceless asset to the business.

Both Melanie and Stephanye design and create some of the jewelry sold in the Southern Charm including a collection of exclusive Charleston Rice Bead designs. 

It's our goal to have something for everyone. We carry a variety of award-winning designers with a selection of sterling silver, gold fill, and 14K gold with the idea in mind to have something for everyone.

With many of our acquisitions being one of a kind or limited edition, layaway is now an option. Layaway is available in store or by phone and requites a 20% down payment and must be paid off within 3 months. Shipping is available for layaway items for a standard fee, once the item is paid in full.

As a small family-owned business, our store policies are designed to ensure our success as a small business, while providing flexibility and peace of mind for our customers. These policies are subject to change. 

Exchanges & Refunds

o An exchange or refund may be made within 14 days of the purchase date for most items. The merchandise must be unused and in original condition and accompanied with proof of purchase. All Exchanges and refunds are subject to our discretion.

o No exchanges or refunds on sale or clearance items. 

o No exchanges or refunds on custom items. 

o No exchanges or refunds available on 14k gold items.

o Returns and exchanges made by mail are subject to shipping fees. 

· Warranties

·  We offer a 30-day warrantee on clasps and “O” rings and end caps.  (If an item is damaged by the user, the warrantee is void. Jewelry is delicate, please treat it with care). 

·  Tarnished sterling silver is natural, not defective, therefor is not covered under warrantee. (Please see our jewelry care section for help on cleaning your sterling silver jewelry). Please avoid harsh chemicals such as chlorine (hot tubs and swimming pools), perfume, hairspray, etc.

·  Gold filled jewelry is not solid gold and can be expected to fade over time and is not warrantied with the exception of the 30-day clasp, “O” ring and end cap warrantee. 

·  14k gold will last you a lifetime if cared for properly. We offer a 30-day clasp warrantee on our 14k however any additional repairs will require a repair fee. 14k chains are not warrantied.

·  Any alterations made to any item will void all warranties.

Fees for repairs not covered by warranty will vary by material and repair needed. We never charge for our time, only the materials needed for the repair.

· Shipping  

o We offer flat rate shipping via USPS within the United States for most items. Custom items over $200 and requests for UPS shipping will be subject to additional charges.

o Free return shipping is only provided in the event that we make a mistake on your order (we’re only human after all). 

o Orders placed by 4:00 pm EST may be shipped next business day with the exception of special orders and back ordered items, which will vary. Other exceptions may apply. 

o We cannot guarantee that they packages will arrive by the expected delivery time. 

o We do not offer international shipping.
